Chain of Custody Policy Statement
Dataroll recognises that business leadership carries a responsibility to the environment and the world’s forest. Dataroll is committed and fully supports those responsible forest management practices that both protect biodiversity and ecosystem integrity and result in long–term social and economic benefits to human communities.
It is Dataroll’s policy to wherever possible purchase paper produced from forests independently certified as well-managed, with the objectives of having as much of Dataroll’s (paper) product Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified as possible, given current market conditions.
It is Dataroll’s policy not to be directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:
- illegal logging or the trade in illegal wood or forest products
- violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations
- destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations
- significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest use
- introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations
- violation of any of the ILO Core Conventions, as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, 1998
The management system provides the framework to maintain compliance with the requirements of the FSC standards for Chain of Custody (CoC) certification. This ensures full control, traceability and records are established to ensure that only stock sourced from approved FSC CoC suppliers is used in the production of printed and non-printed products carrying the FSC trademark.
The Quality Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the CoC system, but it is the responsibility of everyone at Dataroll who is involved in any operation that is critical to maintaining the Chain of Custody ie, administration, purchasing, goods-in, material storage and issue, prepress, printing, despatch and invoicing.
Dataroll is committed to occupational health and safety and has a published Occupational Health and Safety Policy (ZIP-HR-PO-0002) which is available to all stakeholders.
Dataroll is also committed to the continual assessment and improvement of the CoC system through the analysis of data and regular system audits.
To this end all relevant employees of the Company will be committed to continual improvement in the Chain of Custody performance of the Company.
This policy will be made available to Zipform and Dataroll employees, suppliers, customers and other interested parties.
